Our Statement of Faith
The following are the core beliefs of Kingsburg Community Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
GOD
We believe in one God, creator, infinite in Iove, forgiving and just. Unchanging in mercy and grace, God exists eternally in Three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
BIBLE
We believe that the entire Bible and the Bible alone is God’s inspired word to all people. The Word is the supreme authority for life and faith, flawless and true in the original writings. It is sufficient to bring us the knowledge of salvation. It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. It is in the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation that we gain a proper understanding of who God is, what He has done for us in Christ, and His will for our lives.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God. Jesus was fully man and fully God, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus is equal to God, his Father. We believe in Jesus’ miracles, teachings and sinless life, and that he offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead after three days, having conquered sin and death. He ascended into heaven where he intercedes for us to the Father. Jesus will soon return to reign forever.
MAN
We believe that people were created by God in His image. People are the highest of God’s earthly creation, created to have relationship with God. Sin was introduced into the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. The result is that all people are born into a sinful nature. It is this disobedience ~ toward God which separates us from Him and breaks our relationship.
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is the gift of God’s grace and mercy. It cannot be earned or added to by good works. It is given to all who believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for their sins. All who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are forgiven of their sins, born into the family of God by the renewing work and power of the Holy Spirit. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ by faith.
HOLY SPIRIT & CHRISTIAN LIVING
We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with God, the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit makes us aware of our need for Jesus Christ by convicting us of our sins. The Holy Spirit lives in every person from the moment they accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, functioning as teacher, helper, and guide. The Holy Spirit provides the Christian with power for living a holy life, understanding the Scriptures, and doing what is right. The Holy Spirit gives the believer spiritual gifts for furthering the work of Jesus. Our Christian life is a continual process of becoming more Christ-like. Our mission is to share our faith in Jesus to a lost and dying world.
ETERNITY
We believe people were created to live forever. All people will experience the resurrection; believers to eternal life with God, unbelievers to eternal separation from God. Eternal Life with God is heaven and eternal separation from God is hell. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
